i needed it

i dropped my pen tip in my ink well. i spilled a good amount of it trying to rescue it with my finger. i think it's impossible to get out. now i'm worried it will rust in there and discolor my white ink.

my flower drawing kept smiling at me from across the table. i slowly saw the sun start to creep out from the clouds, so I sat in my chair near the window and started to embellish it. dave matthews band and my kitty cat on my lap - oh how i needed a good afternoon. this past week was very hard at work and the weather has been sooo dark. i cannot wait to have spring here and have picnics and sunglasses. ah!

i am going to have to make these pillows. seriously...
my bedding is a spanish mix of oranges, yellows, blues, and reds.

Hopeful

I am so grateful for this new year. The new year is a strong marker that allows me to mentally turn the page and place a bookmark into my thoughts and work. I get to pick up exactly where I left off, but now I have a place to stand from and look forward.

I keep many calendars and lots of notes to myself. My notes are usually in the form of goals, ideas, and quotes. I try to keep reminded of the fact that life can be as basic and simple as written words on a piece of paper. Despite having lots of ways for me to track time (oh, my obsession with clocks...) I am not all that specific or worried about time. The things I do in life are pretty much rollin through the responsibilities and letting the other areas of my life drift free with hard work. Sounds sorta like it doesn't make sense, but that it does for me. hehe.

I am waiting for a package to arrive -- and it has taken way too long. I have ordered up a new batch of paper and water colors for myself. I have several projects lined up including a handmade calendar of the year. I can't hardly wait and am nervous with happiness about it. EEeeEee!

Anyways, I was looking at some of my favorite water color paintings this morning online. I always go back to Janusz Grabianski. His work was in my childhood elementarz (a Polish grammar book). His work is so bright and colorful. Amazing...

Sunday

So I woke up with a slight headache from the delicious red wine last night. My husband helped keep my glass full as he brought over the good stuff when we were at my sister in law's home chatting with some great people. Good laughs.

This morning I went with my sister in law and Ashley (her dog) to a 12 lb and under dog social. (Yes, it was amazing and all these dog live very pampered lives). I managed to get a some what still picture of her face. All the dogs came out as rapid blurs in the pictures.

Crabs is on sale and we are gonna cook it live tonight! (makes me sad ... but ya) My sister in law's bf is going to take care of the cooking part.

Update on the organization : I managed to only get my fabrics and crafts organized and I cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom. Not as productive as I was hoping, but whatareyagonnadoaboutityaknow.

An Afternoon

Ashley the tornado.
This was about the only picture that turned out during this afternoon walk. Here she stopped for a moment as someone in the grass had a remote control airplane. It caused her brain to stop working for that split second.

My to do list is huge. Absolutely crazy. About a year ago I had organized the house spotless. After numerous house guests, life, work, wedding, traveling, running around in the mornings, and being lazy at night, our stuff has creeped all over the place and things have been casually put where they do not belong. It has been a year since I actually sat on the floor under the bathroom sink doors and straightened everything out. A year since I looked through photos, cards, and paperwork that has been lovingly set in a nice large file folder that reads "TO FILE". I also have a file folder called "PENDING" -- or my way of saying I need to get to this, but it's in limbo until then.

So today I am starting on the insanity once again. I have no time line other than it needs to be done NOW. (I hope I can do everything in two days... I mean eveerryythhinngg.) I also am hoping to find new inspirations for decorating the place. Every so often it's healthy to move those potted plants to a new table, or rehang and mix up the art and drawings on the walls. Ya know? All without spending a dime.

The most time consuming and boring?? Our closets.
The one I have little idea what to do with? All my make up, lotions, and potions.
One I am most thinking about? A way to take our colognes and perfumes and display them cutely for use. And updating my inspiration wall near my sewing, designing, drawing, painting desk.
The pits? Under our kitchen sink
Love hate relationship? Magazines and CDs

Okay Doookay. I think I have written up an extensive to do list for myself. Wish me luck!
